The Soulseeker Campaign is set in a 'human-centric' realm, meaning that Human characters are encouraged, but other racial options are still on the table - with concessions.
The Imperium is a harsh military backed republic, one that has been fighting for over 1000 years to secure its power and its borders. The Last Scourge ended three generations (ninety years) ago and all demi-human communities were relegated to parishes, towns and villages far out on the fringes of the Imperium's western borderlands.
True blood Elven, Dwarven, Halfing, Gnome, Dragonborn, and Tiefling Player Characters will have come from one of these locations and will find themselves looked down on and ostracized until they prove themselves in the eyes of the citizens within the borders of the Imperium.

What other choices do Players wanting to play something other than Human?
Variant racial types of Half-elves, Dwarves and Halflings are still choices open to Players - they are simply not referred to by those designations.
Dwarves and Halflings are called Half-Men. They are shorter & stockier, just as they are in your typical D&D setting, and still retain their racial traits and bonuses, they simply are not separate races in the World of Mythari.
Half-Elves are of one of three Human strains, either of Mhorne, Lhurak or Keltoi blood.
