The Sacred Nexus

Sacred Nexus can be of both ethereal and non-ethereal, depending upon your point of view...   But the truth of the matter, is that Sacred Nexus is not just one plane, but a collection of several different realms, each controlled by a different God. It can often be described as the Heaven, as opposed to the Undergrave being Hell basically, and in fact, it is thought that the Undergrave used to be a realm within Sacred Nexus before a war between the Gods forced it to be removed and cast down into the depths of Terr'ahna.   Within Sacred Nexus, there is no life and no death. Only existence or non-existence. Essentially any being with Sacred Nexus is immortal, until banished from the realm. Such is the secret of this plane, and such may be the reason why Etharon insisted upon his final battle with the guardians of Terr'ahna being based here. In the end, the guardians of Terr'ahna could not truly destroy Etharon, and he may even still exist to this day, trapped within Sacred Nexus by the Gods he tried to emulate.   Today, there is no known entry point into Sacred Nexus, and it is assumed by all that it has been closed off to mortals for good. Perhaps for the better.   Generally, the Gods make it a point to not interfere with the affairs of mortals. When Verszagro broke this rule, he was banished from the Sacred Nexus and cast down to Terr'ahna. They have since admitted this to be a grave mistake, as Verszagro continued to cause havoc for mortals and even forcing some to worship him. His ultimate goal however was to destroy all Terr'ahna. When Kairine Kamuya defeated him, they then tried to make things right by imprisoning him within an inescapable tenth level of the Undergrave.   For her efforts in bringing down Verszagro, Kairine Kamuya was offered a place within the Sacred Nexus upon her death. However, when Evilon freed Verszagro, she stayed on the mortal plane to help her son to fulfill his own destiny in order to defeat Verszagro once more. By doing so, she forfeit her place in the Sacred Nexus, and when she finally did die in Eternal Night from Avalice's plague, her spirit remained behind to look over her son. Where her spirit goes from there, only the Gods know.
