The Altarans, the First Fey

No one knows where they came from. No one knows where they went, or even what they were. The Altarans, or the First Fey, are described as alien in appearance, with tall, slender bodies, elongated heads, large almond shaped eyes, pointed ears, long arms and long fingers. According to scholars and the established history, these people came to Olympus from some far off land many millennia ago and branched off into the various Fey sub-races we know today. But where did they come from? Where was this far off land? And why did they leave. According to some scholars, they believe their original homeland could have been Atlantea. However, no evidence of any previous civilization has ever been found there, unless of course you count the many strange ruins that are attributed to the Saurus. Could it have been the Quatrica Islands? Indeed some strange ruins and relics have been found in the islands with no known origin. Most recently, the Tribunal discovered many strange giant head statues along the shore of Maona, all of them strangely looking out in the same north westerly direction. And when the Tribunal followed that direction, they came across a strange island in the middle of the sea, somewhere between Atlantea and the Quatrica Islands, one surrounded by a perpetual storm. And there on this island, dubbed Easari, they found many strange ruins and structures long since overtaken by nature. However, according to what they could see, the Altarans were there, but it was not their homeland.   So where did they come from? And where did they go? Some believe that the established history is full of a number of holes. For one, the Altarans were far too alien in appearance to possibly have branched off into the Fey we know today. We still can not determine what exactly they were, much less why no remains have ever been found. Why do the scholars insist they even existed, if only based on stories passed down by the Gelvaran? Where is the evidence, other than a few ruins? And what of the cryptic messages left behind in places like Easari?   The mystery of the Altarans may forever perplex us.
