Celesteon, The Sky City

Celesteon is an island of sorts which floats in the sky, following the air currents in the upper atmosphere. The air here is thin, so only races and creatures with a special evolutionary advantage which allows them to breathe this thin air, can live here. There are only 2 races with this special adaptation. The Dragla, a race of dragonic humanoids, the oldest and wisest of all races; and the Yaglaw, a race of bird-like humanoids who claim to have a birthright to rule over Celesteon. At one time, over a thousand years past, the Dragla and the Yaglaw used to live together in harmony on this island in the sky. That is until the Yaglaw betrayed the Dragla, forcing them out of the white palace of Celesteon, and banishing them to the surface world. The Dragla left peacefully, wishing not to start a confrontation with their sky brethren. And so today, the Dragla live peacefully with the humans and the other races of the surface world, taking refuge in several parts of the world, but mainly Almahna, the desert continent.
But this has not stopped parts of the Dragla population, who believe they have a right to live in their homeland in Celesteon, from forming a coalition and beginning a long raging war with the Yaglaw, much to the displeasure of the Draglan Elders. To this day, this war rages on. And Celesteon has suffered greatly from it. No longer is it the beautiful white palace of the sky it once was. Now it lives on as a pile of ruins and debris, a reminder to all that war changes everyone. And everything.
