Woodmen of Wilderland
The Woodmen of Wilderland are the descendants of those Men that found their way to the VALLEY OF THE ANDUIN about 500-600 years ago. These men came from various areas looking for new lands and a fresh start.
These hearty frontiersmen have carved out communities throughout the valley and in the eaves of Mirkwood. Their villages usually consist of a hill around which a palisade has been built. They place their homes inside as the land outside is hostile and they need protection through the night and other difficult times. While loosely associated there is no government or law above each villages band of elders. This is supplemented by the whole adult population, or WULD in their tongue, when conditions require larger actions.
These peoples came from many locations and the isolation here has created a new blended ethnicity that has achieved a distinct character of its own shaped by the severity of their living environment.
