Mordor

Mordor is a horrid plain that is surrounded on three sides by barren and harsh mountain ranges.  On the east side it merely fades away into the deserts known as the EASTERN WASTE.  On the North are the ASH MOUNTAINS, on the  west the MORGUL MOUNTAINS, and on the South the MOUNTAINS OF SHADOW.
The interior is a hellish and pitted landscape that can support no life, and no longer has any regular surface water.  The interior also holds the volcano ORODRUIN and Sauron's tower of BARAD-DUR.  Both of these reside in the Northwest section known as GORGOROTH and surrounded on it's Eastern side by branches of the Ash Mountains and the Morgul Mountains.
