Men of Rohan
These nomadic horsemen now live on the great plans of Rohan. Originally descending from the EDAIN they are known as the Eotheod, and lived in the Northern VALES OF ANDUIN. There they had been a great part of the effort to clean up the remnants of Angmar. in 2509 CIRION the STEWARD OF GONDOR, summoned them to assist with issues in the province of CALENARDHON.
Led by their King EORL THE YOUNG the Eotheod arrived just in time to change the outcome of the BATTLE OF THE FIELD OF CELEBRANT. Out of need and gratitude Cirion awarded Eorl and his people with the province. Eorl was thus established in the new land as King of Rohan. Calenarhon had been depopulated by a great plague, and DUNLENDINGS and other undesirable people from the SHADOW LANDS had attempted to migrate into this now empty land.
These proud Men now live here, and raise their fine horses on these pleasant plains. Under their King THEODEN they still live on these lands, and protect the Northern Frontier of GONDOR
