Nebezni Wasteland
The Wasteland is a region that covers a large part of northeastern Estana. It is a massive region of magical fallout created by the Vastrei Incident in 922 BEC, the conclusion of the Mage War.
The Wasteland is notorious for dangerous magical phenomena and is therefore considered uninhabitable. Some legends include people disappearing and reappearing 50 years later unaged, strange noises heard on the wind, mountains rising and disappearing overnight, monsters that can turn people to stone with a look... Most fearsome of all are the Wraiths: mysterious monsters who prowl the Wasteland. Only the foolish dare to approach the Wasteland, much less enter it.
History
The Wasteland was created when, ~1,500 years ago, the Nebezni Empire self-destructed in a massive magical war. A number of powerful spells got out of control, mixed, and essentially exploded into a reality-warping dead zone that remains today.
Beyond the Wasteland
East of the Wasteland is a completely isolated culture of city-states that is heavy in mysticism and astrological worship.
