Wraiths first began entering into lore shortly after the Zastrei Incident, wherein the Nebezni Empire was destroyed in a cataclysmic release of magic, creating the Nebezni Wasteland. Wraith sightings began shortly after that, the locals believing them to be the unsent spirits of all those who died in the Mage War.
