Middle Kaelic

This language evolved after the Sheyla made landfall and began integrating into the Plains cultures. It was codified by the Kaelic clergymen who first wrote the Books of the Gods (collections of the teachings of each of the gods that are still being updated to this day). The clergymen wrote the books in Middle Kaelic, a descendant of Ancient Kaelic, with the Plains writing system, giving non-Sheyla access to the teachings of the gods for the first times... as long as they were willing to learn to speak the holy language first.

Middle Kaelic is characterized by the beginning of Plains influence on the phonetics, exacerbated by the adaptation of the Plains writing system.

This language is no longer spoken beyond the few Kaelic scholars who work directly with the Books of the Gods (modern translations are distributed in Imperial Common ). However, this language is considered a lynchpin to understanding older Kaelic texts, as some linguists have backwards engineered the lost language from what few Ancient Kaelic writings remain using Middle Kaelic.

Geographical Distribution
