Thundersnow

The snow piles onto the ground, dampening the cracks of thunder and dispersing the light from the lightning. It's closer than it appears. One really should stay inside.
After all, the Snow Pups are fighting.

Manifestation

Thundersnow, also called a thundersnowstorm or winter thunderstorm, is a phenomenon which occurs on many planets, usually by a thunderstorm running into a winter environment, cool air, or by sustaining vertical mixing.
On Mudewei specifically, such storms tend to occur over the Ice Flats and the shores where the Frozen Wastes meet the oceans. The factors that generate thundersnow are many and interact in complicated ways with one another, although the relative frequency of such events have provided many opportunities for study.
This phenomenon is commonly mythologized as a fight between the Snow Pups Snow and Ice which has somehow gotten big enough that Wind, Mist, and Cold are essentially along for the ride. However, on occasion, thundersnow is attached to The Movements of the Snow Warrior as one of the freak weather events the myth explains.
