Solene
Solene, The Arcane Spinner, Saule in Draconic, is the god of magic and the sun in the warm-blooded pantheon and the goddess of sun and life in the Draconic pantheon. She maintains the Weave from her realm, Brightloom. The Weave spreads into Morn from the sun itself, which is thought to be a hole created in the sky by Solene from which her warmth and the Weave can flow.
Creation
During creation, Solene was responsible for creating the Weave and granting its gifts to mortals. During the war between the creator gods and interloper gods, Solene wanted greater power to protect creation. So she tore a hole between her realm, Brightloom, and the sky of Morn, creating the sun and allowing the Weave to flow freely into the world. The warmth that flows from Brightloom brings light and life to Morn. When using spells such as Detect Magic, casters are able to see the Weave as it flows around them. Skilled casters can sometimes see the Weave arcing up towards the sun from which it flows.Warm-blooded Pantheon
In the warm-blooded pantheon, Solene is depicted as a tall, slender woman wearing a neutral porcelain mask over her face. She is usually depicted with four or six arms, and occasionally with eight. She uses her many arms to constantly work the Weave, always spinning new threads so that magic can continue to work. Solene is almost always depicted as female.Draconic Pantheon
In the Draconic pantheon, Saule is depicted as an amethyst dragon with six legs. Her wings are usually shown spread, with their membranes containing the blindingly bright light of the sun. In Draconir, the sun is commonly referred to as "Saule's wings." Saule is seen as a benevolent goddess who blesses Morn with her light and warmth each day. The Weave is seen as a sacred gift from Saule that is essential to the orderly progress of fate. It is for this reason that Draconian society shuns arcane magic, as they see it as tampering with Saule's will. Only those she or her fellow Creator Gods have blessed with divine magic may alter the Weave, as divine magic users are seen to have been charged by the gods with the task of maintaining the Weave on their behalf. The Weave
Solene/Saule is believed to constantly spin new threads in the Weave from her domain of Brightloom, which is connected to Morn via a hole between the realms which forms the sun. The Weave is considered to be not just the source of magic in Morn, but a much more intrinsic feature of reality into which fate itself is stitched. The Weave upholds all of reality, and when magic users alter threads in the Weave, they are changing reality around them. When spinning new threads into the Weave, Solene is thought to be dictating the threads of fate, writing the future.Relationship with Chronos
Solene is thought to have a special relationship with Chronos (Metisat in Draconic) due to her connection with the concept of fate. Due to Chronos' domain also including fate, the two gods are largely seen to work in concert. In the warm-blooded pantheon, Solene is thought to be Chronos' consort. Various cultures depict them as spouses while others show them as lovers. In the Draconic pantheon, Saule is depicted as a partner of Metisat, with both entities working to maintain the flow of fate. Saule and Metisat are often included in the same depiction, usually shown as equal reflections of each other.Relationship with Tychra
Solene is thought to have a frought relationship with Tychra (Naga in Draconic), though they have less animosity than Tychra and Chronos. Tychra's granting of free will to mortals allows them to upset the threads of fate woven by Solene as the actions of mortals may be different than what the threads of the Weave predict. Mortals' unpredictability means Solene must constantly maintain the Weave, patching tears when mortals behave in ways she did not expect.
