The Moon Citadel

The Moon Citadel stands in the centre of Fountain, exactly at the Moon Pole. Initially it was a tall spire of rock that stood exactly at the Moon Pole, with the ground having been pulled up by the Moon's gravity itself, with water spiraling up the sides of the spire. Water would rise in drops from the tip of the spire, and form into clouds that would rain on the starting points of each of the 4 main longitudinal rivers starting from the base of the Moon Citadel itself.
As more and more people settled and built more into Fountain, people decided to build around the inner spire of rock, building what has become the Citadel today. The Citadel serves as the main neutral ground between all the communes, factions and species inhabiting Fountain, while also serving as a station for space shuttles from the Moon and back. The first space shuttles were gifts from the Moon people themselves, and since then they have also provided the Fountaineers with the supplies, resources and expertise needed to build the infrastructure of the early city.
The Moon Citadel has an everchanging Moon sculpture at the top, showing all the phases of the Moon even though Fountaineers themselves only ever see the full Moon. It's a constantly shifting piece of rock that shifts through all the phases of the Moon visible from the Moon-pole to the Anti-Moon-pole, as a way to denote all peoples from all over the planet. It is a reminder that Fountain is the most recent settlement out of all the settlements all over the planet, as it was inititally after several nomadic peoples migrated all the way to the Moon-pole, following the longitudinal rivers upstream.
