Moontides

A planet with a fixed moon, with the poles facing each other, and a city on each pole. The Luminaries of Haven and the Beasts of Fountain look up to face each other, wondering what life is like across the void of space. The Beasts reach out first, with a drone containing paintings depicting many species.   Layla Fortuna, the Luminary princess, is teamed up with the Lunar Pantheon, the oppressive God Queen's ruling council, to build the first Luminary spaceship and go to Fountain. There, she finds a city of scholars, committed to collecting and sharing their knowledge of magic and science, who welcome her with open arms. She sheds the mantle of control and worship set on her by Mother and finds herself free to satiate her hunger for discovery and invention.   With a chance to change her life forever and be herself, Layla wonders if defending Fountain is worth risking a war between gods, and a confrontation with Mother.
