Corinth Beiphyra Character in Mythrite | World Anvil

Corinth Beiphyra

Corinth Beiphyra found his way to Mythrite following a growing sense of wanderlust. After spending the last century of his adulthood in one place, Corinth began to look for opportunities to leave his homeland and see more of the world. The only thing holding him back was an unshakable pride and kinship to his people. When whispers of Mythrite and its wellspring of largely yet undiscovered wealth began to make their way into the forest lands, Corinth saw his opportunity. He would forge into these new lands and claim a precious stake in this new city for his people. He faced a degree of opposition in leaving, with some arguing fervently that the matters and greed of the other races was better left to them alone. He left his homeland on this sour note, with only a liberal few wishing him well in hopes of securing a new age of unparalleled prosperity.   Setting out on his own for the first time, Corinth approached everything with an air of caution, preferring to approach the perilous roads to Mythrite with his cunning before his skill. Upon arriving in Mythrite in its third month, it was impossible not to notice the escalating lawlessness of the people and the ever-present threat of monsters. Appalled, Corinth settled into a role among the middle-class with the Caravan Guard, lending his wit and his sword to the protection of the Miners and the people. He quickly rose in the ranks and before long became a Caravan Captain. Under his hesitant and watchful eye, journeys to the mines are a slower expedition, but many lives have been saved from the unpredictable dangers of the mountains.   While Corinth honors the claims that other races have already staked in the mountain, he was pleased to find a home in Reverie, where he and other elves could commune with the same ideals and traditions from their homelands. He, like many others, is particularly wary of the secretive Lords' Alliance Representatives. With their intentions still unclear, they pose a threat to each new livelihood being built.   Overall, the people of Mythrite find Corinth to be a mindful presence in the guard. On and off duty he is hesitant against risks of any kind and has never even been enticed into the gambling circle. He cares about the health and safety of the entire city and its diversity of races, even if he is notoriously liberal in his stance on elven politics.
