Ode to Desridaen

The Ode to Desridaen is an ancient poem found in some of the holy texts of the Priests of Naveh.

Desridaen, the beautiful, fair and noble, pale of skin and blond of hair.

Desridaen, the immoral artist in metal and skilled in the lore.

Desridaen, the one who suffered the loss of his friend and King.

Desridaen, the one who cannot sleep, but was twisted and tormented by our nightmares.

Desridaen, he is ours now and forever.

Desridaen, labored on his fifteen masterpieces of death.

Once he was done, we claimed him with his last and greatest treasure.

Summary

Desridaen was an elven master weapon-crafter who was captured alive and tortured and twisted but Navean forces after the Battle of Sorrows where his close friend and King, Daelda fell in combat.

As a corrupted disciple of Naveh, he forged fifteen Magnificent Long-knives, most of which are wielded by temple assassins of the Naveh priesthood, although some are lost. Once he completed the last his great works, he was murdered.

It is said his tortured spirit still toils in the services of Naveh forging weapons having earned a place high in Naveh's court.
