Jaryn Ryo Osumi
Physical Description
A bit muscular, more on the lean side.
Mental characteristics
The village he comes from, Minzu Akh, had a bit of an odd relationship with humans. They were one of the many orc villages that were desperate to fit in with humans, and ended up rather heavily trying to force their worship of Lord Fyayn onto the villagers. Jaryn, although never much of an active revolutionary, just never liked the strict rules of Fyayn’s religion and kinda just did his own thing. Because of that he was never liked much by the conservative villagers. One day his orc father was caught cheating on his human wife with a group of girls, and was beaten and exiled for it. Jaryn tried desperately to defend him as she was also guilty of cheating first, but the villagers didn’t believe him, and kicked out Jaryn and his fox brother Ryo with him.
Since then, he’s been struggling to get by. Although he genuinely loves the nomadic life, it was difficult with how unprepared he was. Lord Fyayn’s given him the offer of becoming a monk to gain forgiveness and be accepted back, but he knows he could never get into that type of lifestyle, not for such a prudish and racist God. Ryo is sick of wandering around and begging for chores to get money from strangers, and is constantly trying to pressure him into reaching out for help, but Jaryn refuses to ask for it.
Asexual, maybe heteroromantic
Learned most of what he knows from his parents.
Before being exiled from the village, he worked as a fisherman’s assistant (building nets, repairing fishing rods and spears, etc…). After being exiled, he became a mercenary. Not necessarily taking money outside of his ethics, but looking to help with anything he could to earn some cash.
Social
He can be a bit awkward at times, and rather quiet.
He tends to be pretty still and smooth with his mannerisms. When angry, his movements become quick and explosive.
History
They both care deeply for each other, though their relationship can be a bit complicated. Jaryn likes to think he doesn’t need Jal, being jealous of him that he created a successful business, and angry that he didn’t leave with him and Ryo when they were banished.
Jal wanted to leave, but he was afraid of losing everything he had, and was already on thin ice with the village having such a tavern open to outsiders. He knows it doesn’t really make up for it, but he’s always willing to give him and Ryo free food when they pass by.
History
They do often argue and disagree on how to handle situations, but they’ve held a spiritual bond since birth. Ryo’s always stuck by Jaryn’s side, even when he was banished.
