Odravians
The Odravians is a human ethnicity that originated in the region of Dresia. Over the centuries, they have spread into neighbouring regions as traders, settlers, and refugees.
Having a history of farming, trade and the rare conflict between tribes of the Odravians, they are known as a pragmatic and resilient people. While they can't boast of a legacy of conquest like the Crienia or some of the elves, they can boast of a culture that puts lots of weight on loyalty, family and taking pride in one's trade.
They place great value on the community and celebrate local festivals and villages will gather to get the work done both faster and more efficiently, like harvesting together or raising new housing.
The people pass down their history, myths and customs through an oral tradition called "Teledans" these stories will be told to the younger generations during the festivals or when they reach a certain age.
While the Odravians pay respect to the gods of the Starlighters Pantheon the Crienic gods, they also have their own spirituality, called "Hearthspirits" generallyt described as small house spirits that protect families, fields and or tools, like the blacksmith might have a Hearthspirit said to inhabit the furnace of the workshop, making sure the fire and metal are just perfect.
While the majority of the people live in small farming villages in the many valleys of their region, some have moved to larger cities such as Pearlhal where they form close-knit neighborhoods, likewise for many of the Odravians, horses play a central role in their life, and every other year, they meet at horse fairs where families can showcase their finest breeds and they can exchange knowledge and trade horses.
When their region became part of the Empire of Dercia, the Odravians adopted many of the traditions of the Crienia people and some areas even welcomed the settlement of veterans in newly formed settlements. Due to their ability with horses, both when it comes to riding but also training them, the Odrivians have become the main source of Auxiliary cavalry for the Empires legions.
