Silentdale
Silentdale is a small mining town located in the Laronto Woods. Administratively, it is part of County Navania, but it holds more in common with Castleport due to its proximity and strong ties.
Defences
A single guard tower manned by two guardsmen is all that there is to defend the town natively. They rely heavily on a quick response from the Garrick Family downstream in Foglemire.
Industry & Trade
Silentdale is a small town and serves almost exclusively as a resource collection point for the much wealthier Foglemire downstream. The entire town has come up over the decades as a means to support the miners, since it's easier and faster to live near the mines than to travel to the mans from another town.
As such, various support industries have cropped up over the years, including a smithy, a chapter of the
Miner's Guild, and a tavern. These all tend to be much smaller and less developed, especially when compared to other nearby towns such as Castleport and Navania.
Points of interest
Silentdale is a small town, and most activity, other than mining, occurs near the town square. This is where most businesses are located, where the guard tower is, and where the town cryer can be found on any given day.
Ston's Tavern is a small, raucous dive in the middle of this small mining town. It's owner, Ston Pelley and his wife Marquitta Pelley, have run the place for nearly 20 years. It has a limited menu and frequently runs out of ale. This sometimes turns into a bar fight, but it always ends quickly and nobody has ever been seriously hurt.
Sledge and Poker is the name given the local smithy run by Weldon Serafin. He specializes in the manufacture and repair of mining equipment to support the workers at the local Silentdale Mine.
Imaena Fryft is the owner of the local general store, Imaena's Marketplace. Here she caters to the needs of the locals that live in Silentdale, as well as the occasional would-be adventurer that passes through. Every now and again she'll receive an interesting item for trade from the gnomes of Foglemire.
