The United States is a region located within the physical world of Earth. After the invasion of Stockholm in which an artificially intelligent being known as Herobrine built a portal from within a Minecraft server owned by Notch, known simply as Minecraftia, to open the way to Earth using a Command Block, Notch had all his assets seized during a search from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, including the computers that held all the data for Minecraftia. Since then, the US government has put sizable funding into ensuring that the server stays running smoothly, while creating many other minecraft servers that run similarly. The existence of Minecraftia and the other servers are a tightly-secured secret, and many operations were utilized to ensure that the invasion of Stockholm did not expose the server to the world.
The servers are often used for testing in order for researchers to learn better the relationship between the virtual and physical world, and are also used to test theoretical weaponry and technologies to better their military advancements. The complex nature of AI that exists within Minecraftia is a source of great interest from researchers, who carry out their tests in various ways without revealing their interferences to the virtual beings.
