Battlecruiser

Battlecruisers are a class of space ship intended for long-range space superiority and fleet actions. They are solely operated by the fallen empires and utilise extremely advanced technology well beyond the means of the majority of the galaxy. They are most similar to contemporary battleships in size, configuration, and role, albeit faster and much more heavily armed. Even though they lack the powerful perdition beam of a contemporary titan, their dual spinal mounts and strike craft squadrons make them equally as powerful and considerably more flexible. Like fallen empire escorts, battlecruisers are believed to use advanced physics and exotic matter in their construction, as reverse-engineering efforts have likewise failed.

In terms of their configuration, battlecruisers resemble upscaled escorts. All of their weapons face directly forward, bringing a huge amount of firepower to bear on a single target. Their hangars are located on the sides of the ship, allowing for quick deployment without getting in the way of the main guns. Also like escorts, the different types of battlecruisers used by the fallen empires are remarkably similar in design, once again suggesting a common origin for their technology or convergent design evolution.
