Dragonborn

Dragonborn are the result of mixing humanoid and draconic bloodlines, resulting in a humanoid creature with distinctively draconic features. Their bodies are covered in scales which come in a variety of colours that hint at the individual's draconic bloodline. Dragonborn society follows a tribal structure, with each tribe lead by an elder or elders. Members of the Drakulesios tribe are typically gold, copper, brass, or bronze coloured, whereas the dragonborn from the Odyssian tribe are blue, green, or black coloured, and dragonborn from the Thryskeia tribe are red, white, or gold coloured. They take the name of their tribe as their first name with their second name being unique to themselves, there is an exception to the rule where a dragonborn who has achieved a great feat may opt to not use their tribe name and instead be granted an honorific to celebrate their deed. One thing all dragonborn tribes have in common is that all members of the species feel the need to constantly improve, tribes of dragonborn are small in number so the survival of the species relies on individuals becoming the best they can. In order to achieve this, a young dragonborn will choose a set of skills to pursue and will continue to refine those skills to the point of mastery or death. The individual dragonborn tribes have different values which are influenced by their draconic bloodline; a bronze dragonborn would likely pursue martial skills and would seek to constantly test their prowess against tough opponents in order to improve themselves. Elderly dragonborn are compelled to return to their tribe so that they may pass their knowledge on to the youth, dragonborn tribes don't keep written records and instead keep their history and culture alive through spoken word and tribal traditions. There are three dragonborn tribes on Midasfjall who all inhabit the peaks of The Windpeak Range. The tribes live separately from each other but in peace. They respect one another's differing pursuits and realise that to war with each other would damage their species irreparably.

When you use your breath weapon, all creatures in the area must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your ancestry. The DC of this saving throw is 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increase to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th, and 5d6 at 16th level. After using your breath weapon, you cannot use it again until you complete a short or long rest.
  • Damage Resistance. You have resistance to the damage type associated with your ancestry.
With a humanoid body covered in brightly coloured scales, the head of a dragon, clawed hands and feet but no tails or wings, Dragonborn cut a fearsome image. Dragonborn are tall and well built, with most standing easily over 6ft and weighing over 300 pounds on average, their large build and predatory visage inspires fear in most other races which leads them to be treated with caution.
