Farmegi Physical / Metaphysical Law in Miand'Mésvéstell | World Anvil

Farmegi

That which gives a majority of the Anishan their own unique capabilities.

Farmegi is the renowned ability of the Anishans to manifest various powers that are deeply attuned to their metaphysical and abstract nature; especially in regards to their Alignments.
It is considered to be one of the most versatile and powerful Sacred Arts in all of Alézun'Teran. However, in regards to some specimens, it is also incredibly limited in what it is capable of.

Farmegi & Ani Force

In order to properly utilize Farmegi, Anishans need to draw forth power from that which connects them all — both living and dead — on a metaphysical level: The Force of Ani.
They achieve this in two possible ways: They either draw it forth directly from their surroundings or access their own personal source reserve known as the Ataeru; one that is comparable to a well from which one may obtain water.

Ataeru & Farmegi

The size of the Ataeru varies for each Anishan and the summoning speed and rate of fire it allows for can either be seconds or minutes, depending on what form Fermagi manifests as. The general consensus is that it allows for at least two full Fermagi Summonings within the span of about 60 seconds, but there are exceptions to this.
With time, as well as through physical and mental training, the size of Ataeru will steadily grow, allowing for faster replenishing and less effort in regards to utilization of one's capabilities. That which is draining in the beginning to the point of losing consciousness, will in time be no less tiring than drawing a bowstring before letting loose.

Unique in Nature

"A good comparison would be guns or rifles. While they are all projectile weapons at their core, each has its own caliber, weight, precision, and ammo capacity that sets them all apart.
— Unknown.
Ssimilar to its Sister Ability Utrustica, Farmegi is, so far as has been documented, unique to each Anishans. Their strength, summoning speed, rate of fire, and durability vary, as do the form Farmegi manifest as. It is vital to note, however, that specimens with comparable Alignments receive similar traits in their Farmegi's forms.

Forms of Farmegi

Exactly what form Farmegi can manifest as is entirely dependent on an Anishans Alignments. Particularly their Themes, though the role of the Likseh should not be dismissed so easily in this regard.

The Fundamental Forms

But there are also forms of the Farmegi that are accessible to all Anishans, at least in theory if not in practice, and that concern the manipulation of raw Ani Force.
  • Energy Bursts are considered to be the most fundamental form that Farmegi can take, with shock waves and lances being its most common variations.
  • Energy Shielding is a close second, and it either concerns a bubble shield or a so-called suit-shield.
Usually, these are accented to a degree by certain effects that are impacted by Alignments. For example, one who has a Likseh connected to heat in some manner may have their energy shielding give off scorching sparks when impacted.

Fundamental Farmegi Form Users

As mentioned, it is theoretically possible for every Anishan to utilize the fundamental forms of Farmegi. It is a different tale in practice, at least initially. Anishans are in this regard placed into three categories: Naturals, Talented Ones, and Shackled Ones.

Naturals
Naturals are the rarest of all three and are Anishans who can utilize the Fundamental Forms on an instinctual level without prior training.
They also rarely have any usage for Farmegi Focuses, as they themselves essentially are one.
Most Naturals are Celestial Anishan.

Talented Ones
Talented Ones are those who cannot instinctively utilize the Fundamental Forms without proper training. Generally, they need to make a conscious effort for something to manifest.
They are moderately rare and most need to utilize Farmegi Focuses to have better control over the Fundamental Forms.
Talented Ones are mainly Celestial Anishan.

Shackled Ones
Shackled Ones are the most common of the three and concern Anishans who appear incapable of manifesting the Fundamental Forms without extensive training and determination. Most find it necessary to utilize a Fermagi Focus to control the Fundamental Forms in any good capacity.
Most Shackled Ones are Tarrem Anishans.

I like this interesting ability of the Anishans! Seems also that you have its boundaries pretty clear too. I think it is clear what it can and cannot do. I do have some questions:   What is Ataeru exactly? An aura or a manifestation that is similar to an aura? Is it the "magic" projection? Is it supposed to be simile in the sidebar? Just wondering! "Farmegi is, so far as has been" under "Unique in Nature" is probably a grammatical error/mistyping?   As always I would say that the pictures are perfectly chosen for the article. It will be interesting to see what other Anishans have for their Farmegi in the future!

Thank you, Worldkeymaster! Happy to hear it!
I actually mention Ataeru in a bit more detail in the Utrustica article, but didn't here because I felt it would be too repetitive. I will possibly give it its own article in the future. But essentially, it is supposed to be an inner metaphysical source of power that is somewhat similar to an aura. Hm. Possibly. I will check it out.

Ah, I see, I will have to look into the other article as well (my reading list is bloated with many articles, might take some time). Thanks for the clarification!
