Earth, reimagined without Oceans. A magic akin to a mix of western mana and eastern qi, known as
Shinsoo, permeates the world, in particular the
Ocean that separates continents. Much of the
Ocean is an enigma, to the people of Mhor, it is simply how things are. Though inland lakes and rivers exist to give people an idea of water, the oceans of water we familiar with are a foreign concept to the inhabitants of Mhor. Instead they know of the
Ocean as a deep and massive forest with a canopy that breaks upon leveling with the mainland. Sea creatures have instead evolved to make instinctive and intrinsic use of
Shinsoo in the air to "swim" and now hunt alongside birds. On mainland, much of Mhor is similar to Earth, mountains rise high into the sky, and rivers carry water into great cascades into the
Ocean below. Some call the
Ocean the Cradle of Life, others believe it to be a place that twists and distorts the living. The only thing known for sure is that
Shinsoo is very, very dense the deeper you go, and this
Shinsoo allows for things to grow very, very big.
Over the past five centuries, Mhor's mainland has finally been connected by the airships developed by the
Dwarven League. This has led to the rapid rise and development of the
West Nadini Trading Empire, a corporate empire with the capital to rival any of the exisiting nations. Much to the dismay of organizations like the
Church of Clear Skies, the expanded trade routes have gradually lessened people's concern towards entering
Ocean, resulting in the slow acceptance of the
Cult of the Depths and rise of the
Diver's Guild as the number one organization to plan your trip through
Ocean. TODO: It would be smart to include details that introduce the other main nations (the
Frozen Alliance,
Wandering Tribes,
Beasthaven,
Xinzu Empire ) here as well as the
Three Realms Dao. This would give direct links to most of the top-level powers/alignments in Mhor right at the front.
