Shinsoo
Magic on Mhor relies on “shinsoo”, a concept similar to mana and qi. It is widely believed to be the fundamental essence of all forms, through which those gifted in controlling it can mold, shape, and bind it to their wills. While seemingly formless in lower concentrations, it can become very taxing to the body in higher concentrations, from wearing one down and causing illness, to interfering with abilities and impeding movement, and in extreme cases, even suffocating. Of course, those with enough strength and control over shinsoo can find these higher concentrations a great boon to their abilities, granting them greater power, resilience, and even beneficial to their healing and natural vitality. For these reasons, a special permit from the Diver’s Guild is required to venture past checkpoints of varying depths (e.g. 100 m, 300 m, 500 m).
There exist three ways individuals exert influence over shinsoo: Mage-types are capable of directly influencing the properties of shinsoo with their commands, offering versatile control. (Priests and the more religious attribute this control to their faith.) Those who rely on their physical strength can pull the surrounding shinsoo towards them and augment their own strength and actions with it. Lastly, there are those individuals who seem to exert a subconscious influence on the shinsoo around them, often allowing them to bolster their senses and skills, add unusual weight and persuasiveness to their words, and even aid in blending and fading into their surroundings.
Shinsoo can be seen as having "subcategories" but in reality it is an attribute being "attached" to the carrier "shinsoo"
