Anthi's Lucky Hairpin
The hairpin is made of electrum, with one gem in the middle of it: a hexagonal, step cut orange garnet. Its plain, straight band has symbols and glyphs engraved into it all the way down its length, which is about as long as the index finger. In addition, once per short rest, you may cast resistance on yourself as a reaction. This is unconscious to the character, as the "good luck" of the pin rubs off on you.

Personal history
Thais wasn’t just born into a nation, she was born into an army. In Cactsia, the words “honor” and “duty” were learned right alongside “mother” and “father”, and every citizen was expected to serve. Though the daughter of a poor blacksmith and a baker, Thais was no different. She was enlisted into Cactsia’s military at the age of 15, as was common, and spent much of her adolescence training and preparing for the day she too would join the glorious front lines of The Cactsian Expansion War. She was 17 when she saw her first battle and began to fully enact the truth that had been inscribed into her soul: she was Cactsian, she was strong, and she was worthy. Those who fell to Cactsia’s might were weak, and as such were meant to be led and contribute to a larger greatness. That was another truth she had learned young: to be weak in either mind, body, or spirit was to be shameful and incapable of living a life of honor.
For the next three years Thais proved her worth and strength on a field of blood and smoke. It did not take long after her first battle for her to catch the eye of a special company of Paladins, The Black Gauntlet, who were infamous for their talent and conviction. If an entrenched enemy line needed to be broken, they were called upon. A town that was once a stronghold of resistance would be brought to its knees in a show of surrender and a plea for mercy without a single sword being unsheathed. Fear and terror were weapons to be wielded with as much ferocity as any blade. Once she was embraced into their ranks, their devotion to Skatr and his truths showed Thais that it was an enemy’s spirit and will to fight that needed to be broken in order to truly disarm them.
Though the war soon came to a close, Thais’s service to her country, and to Skatr, would continue. The commanding officer of Thais’s company, who was recognized as a war hero due to his many accomplishments during the conflict, soon rose to greater political heights after his military retirement and receiving his Ivory. Once he was elected a solon of Cactsia, it was only natural for those who had served so well with him during the war to continue to serve with him as his personal guard. As a solon, it was his responsibility to look after the safety and interests of the nation, and if he had the means to solve problems and eliminate threats, was he not duty-bound to do so?
The mission had seemed straightforward. A rogue, honorless band of dissidents and troublemakers that thought they could threaten the order and law of their home. Thais hadn’t expected to find a former comrade amongst them, someone she had fought with, had gone through basic training with. Someone who had always secretly caught her eye, but she had never dared speak of it. He stood defiantly with these rabble rousers; some native Cactsians, many from territories that had been assimilated. They claimed to be acting in the name of justice, in defense of the innocents wronged by the war and the children of Cactsia who had been betrayed by the very lies they had sworn to uphold.
He pleaded with Thais, and begged her to see reason. For the first time in her life, her resolve faltered. She stood frozen before him as he gripped the wrist of the hand that held her sword and stared into her eyes. She watched as those eyes that pierced into her opened wide in shock and were drained of life as one of her fellow Paladins ran him through. She was commanded to act.
It was as if Thais’s body floated through the rest of the night and the events that followed. Her hand did its duty in finishing off the rest of the protestors. Her mouth gave her mission report and her feet walked home. Her hands removed her armor. They cleaned her sword. Did she sleep? The sun rose. She found herself packing a bag. She was at her cousin’s door, saying goodbye and little else. Something was gently, but insistently pressed into her hand. She was sitting in the back of a merchant’s cart. The sun was rising high over the capital city in the distance. She crossed the Cactsian border. She was gone.
Mental Trauma
After the fight with the oblex in Brillante, Thais has begun to slowly lose her memory - particularly of her friend Dimitris.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Dimitris Katsaros: Old comrade whom Thais was secretly infatuated with. A strong man in both body and will with a good heart. He and many others were killed while protesting Cactsia's warmongering by Thais and her fellow members of The Black Gauntlet.
Family Ties
Anthi Argyri: Cousin and childhood friend with a weak constitution who was often sick. Thais has always been protective of her since they were young and Anthi gifted her with a "lucky" hairpin before Thais defected.
Hobbies & Pets
Thais's divine steed is a warhorse named Arkeo who is all black, but his eyes are the color of liquid gold and depending on the lighting there is a slight shimmer to him, as if golden dust was sprinkled into his hair and over his body.
She also has taken on the responsibility of taking care of one of the young plant dragon wyrmlings, naming it Kona (nickname, KK) after Kona-Karr (whom its mother, Cirvai, worshipped), and after it's birth month of Kona.

A former Paladin of Conquest from the imperialist nation of Cactsia. She fought on the front lines of The Cactsian Expansion War and faithfully served a powerful solon for years, but now she is lost without a path to follow.
