Skatr

God of order, domination, and subjugation

In the grand scheme of dictators and tyrants, there are many who excuse Skatr (SKAH-ter) as "not so bad," or "regrettably necessary."

After all, his hand seems to bring with it peace and prosperity, does it not?

This is true, but it is a half truth - something that is common with Skatr.

He does, indeed, bring peace and prosperity, but only to his followers. Those who do not follow him are crushed beneath his boot, made to work the fields, fill the prisons, or sleep in the sewers. There is no peace for them. Only servitude, misery, and death.

The peace and prosperity for Skatr's followers comes at the cost of their fellow countrymen (or the outsiders to their civilizations that have found their home within its borders), and the insidious thing is that they are not the only ones who benefit. Many of their friends and, yes, other fellow countrymen also benefit, meaning that his influence is difficult to stop. Even those who do not follow his tenets, rites, and traditions may see him and his followers as extreme, but their fellow senator who does follow Skatr is "not so bad," and besides - something does need to be done about the lawlessness in the city. It breeds an uneasy truce between Skatr's selfish and cruel acolytes and their weak-willed, apathetic friends and relations.

Even more insidious is that it breeds a pipeline for those who did not follow Skatr at first, but see the "benefits" of his gifts and are anxious and fearful of what anarchy will do to the country - and particularly their own personal interests - to join his ranks.

Many more follow Skatr than would proclaim loyalty to him publicly. They wear secret symbols, greet each other with unknown blessings, and work together to advance his plans. They know each other, but even their bosom friends may not. Not until the poison dripped in their ear from their "friends" has turned their brains to rot.

Some brothels of particular... flavors... have their workers that are willing to engage in activities of submission and domination wear symbols of Skatr. There are few that actually worship the deity - it is more of an affectation and shorthand for their services than any sort of proclamation of their loyalty to the Lord of Lords. These workers are sometimes even called Unicorns.

Physical Description

Body Features

Whether he's being depicted as an evil deity or portrayed as his acolytes would, Skatr is generally depicted as the epitome of what a king should look like.

Tall, broad shouldered, and a handsome, masculine face. He's usually clean-shaven with long, luxurious brunette hair that falls past his shoulders. But his smile is just a bit too fake (or cruel, depending on who you ask), and his eyes are jet black.

Apparel & Accessories

Skatr is usually dressed as a king on coronation day. Gleaming armor with a flowing red cloak lined with ermine fur, a sword in a gem-encrusted scabbard at his side, and a crown upon his head. Some depictions will even give him angelic wings.

Commonalities & Shared Interests

If Politia is a goddess of the people, then Skatr is a god against the people. He sees himself and his faithful as better than the riff-raff that make up "civilization," and will stop at nothing subjugate and trample the weak under their heel. Politia despises Skatr for this reason, and Skatr sees Politia as a sentimental, soft-headed fool.
