Strongfare

Strongfare is located on the northern border of the kingdom of Druebar, it has hills on one side and dense jungles on the other side. due to it's close proximity to the border the city experiences a large amount of trading volume, making it a prime hub for finished goods and production labor. The city is the base of operations for the 4 great guilds: Craftsmen, Architects, Merchants, and Magic. There's a 5th guild, the mercenaries, which is currently petitioning for a seat on the guild council.

Government

Like all cities in Bralor Strongfare has a regional mayor, unlike the other cities the guild council wields significant power among city politics due to the economy being heavily reliant on the economy the guild provides. Due to this fine balance the mayor tends to go with whatever proposal the Guild council endorses.

Guild politics is fairly straightforward, internal guild elections to decide who will lead and represent them in small councils. In the case of a major issue that affects more then one guild (Such as the accepting a new guild or a change in benefits that comes with membership.) then every member across all guilds must put it to a vote, though guild leaders can make their stance known on the issue. It's common for such issues to be debated in a public forum, typically over a thousand in attendance.

Infrastructure

The most predominant feature of Strongfare are the massive Ironworks located in the industrial district (Nicknamed Iron Spire), these massive towers are the heart of the city and produce the finest in metalwork. Beams, bar stock, weapons, decorative pieces, magical quality items are all produced from the great spires.   If the Iron Spires are the heart then the great magic academy of Bathazaar's Sanctum would be the head. The emerald rotunda, held up by onyx pillars, are a sight to behold. The academy rivals that of Highsummit, producing excellent magic users and provides some of the best facilities for arcane research and magical crafting. The academy is located fairly close to the the jungle of Misty Gardens, which allows for direct provisioning of basic and exotic material used in practicing the arcane arts.

Guilds and Factions

The Guild of magic: One of the two guilds that wield a fair amount of clout on the guild council, was led by a Elf known as Erlathan Valfaren who was pronounced dead on the 8th day of Terseg 2517 AGF. The guild usually takes an isolationist approach when trying to affect city policy.   The Guild of Craftsmen: This group is the second guild that wields a considerable amount of clout on the guild council, current leader is a dwarf named Kragoir Lavaforge. This guild is an outspoken advocate of expanding their influence and reach outside the city of Strongfare.   The Guild of Architects: This group has a seat on the council but tends to side with the Craftsmen as they do a fair amount of business, current leader is a Human named Cecilla Velrik. The guild is responsible for the construction of all the great structures of Strongfare, they take great pride in building projects that satisfy form and function.   The Guild of Merchants: This group has a seat on the council but tends to side with the guild of magic due to their ability to sale their magical wares and to supply materials need in arcane research, current leader is a halfling named Nevel Wildcloak. The guild has the greatest ability to sponsor expeditions due to their logistic resources used in caravan operations.   The Mercenaries: The mercenaries are a sizable group that has managed to successfully carve out their own place in Strongfare, they originally started out as being individually hired by each guild when needed (on independent contracts). Such jobs included: Caravan guard, mining security, guides for expeditions, construction site guards, and caster body guards. While they were paid decently, they missed out on special benefits only guild members enjoyed. So a Half-orc named Krusk started to network and organize, once she had enough support she submitted an application to be recognized on the 40th day of Sirlith 2517. The application received vocal opposition from the guild of magic.
