Creation

The myth of Creation is one that was passed for millennia by means of oral tradition. The first account of it in scripture was carved into a cliff face in Auraën, a long-extinct language stemming from southern Flaviae.
In the beginning stormed the primordial waters of the Fathomless, an endless expanse of churning, murky water caught in the tumultuous storm of Chaos. No life could thrive in the infinite sea, other than two spirits born of its depths.   There were two creatures of immense being that were rapidly incubating in the freezing seas - these were the creatures of Sky and Earth. Though they lacked identity, their emergence from the vast tumult interrupted the Chaos in a way it had never been interrupted before. Sky and Earth created Order, and the Order brought Stillness.   Sky suppressed the waves from extending into Infinity. Through her creation of Air, she brought about the first force to hold back the waves from enveloping Anything and Everything.   Earth created the first tangible Creation beyond the waves. Through his creation of Land, he brought about the first place to bear Life beyond the Cosmic.   In the Union of Sky and Earth, so created were Fire and Flower. The first Life born of Flower grew deep in the Markéd Peaks - a Tree amidst a Garden of briar.   The Tree had borne three spirits - Watcher, Voice, and Muse. Their existence spurred into being the Ancestors of all Humans, Elves, and Dwarves.   When the first Mortals were created, the Gods realized that they were far more complex than They had anticipated. These Mortals had conceptualized Duality in a way befitting Divinity itself - thus, the Dichotomy was brought into existence. With it came the Mortal ideals of Good and Evil; Order and Chaos.   With the genesis of Dichotomy came the birth of dozens of Gods beyond the Pantheon. Birth, Life, and Death were among them, instilling the world with the first realization of their own Mortality. In their wake came the natural consequences of the world's evils and greed: Slaughter and Filth.   The world began to balance the concepts of Good and Evil; Order and Chaos. Worship was established as a method of anchoring the Mortal soul to the Land, which began to bear a healthy population amidst this eternal sea. Mortals called the expansive Lands they walked upon Marvelous, and thus, the continent of Marvelo was born.

Historical Basis

The major historical basis of Creation falls upon the shoulders of several contemporary theologians who possess the arcane ability to divine past events with some degree of accuracy, though no one has further verified the claims that these theologians have made. All four of them are major scholars with weight to their names in the field.
Date of First Recording
First written account stems from 210 BM; oral tradition is even older.
Date of Setting
Before the earliest known history - between 15 and 16,000 years before the current date.
