Namtar
Namtar is the Marvellan god of disease and filth, and is the patron deity of multiple Marvellan cults who seek to spread plague among the world.
Holy Books & Codes
Namtar has no official holy books, as his entire religious tradition has been rooted in oral transmission. Since he's been banned from public worship in all three of the Tri-Kingdoms (including Gallant and other non-associated settlements), having written sacred texts of Namtar can result in severe repercussions.
However, as a part of the Mass of the Divine Host, there are several memorized aspects that are stated by He Who Infests (otherwise known as the highest clerical position in the Namtarian faith). This includes the Processional, which begins each service.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
As with all of the Marvellan pantheon, he is represented by one anatomical aspect and one color.
The part of the mortal body most closely associated with Namtar is the liver - an easily-corruptible filter where bile is stored.
His representative color is a sickly yellowish-green, mimicking the color of yellow bile.

Personal history
Namtar - god of filth, rot, corruption, and disease - was born of the natural consequences of the Stamen Trio. The birth of death goes hand in hand with rot, as death senza decay would halt the processes of Trøglav's Creation in its tracks.
In Namtar's earliest days, he spread incessant plague to every corner of Marvelo. Few mortals were spared from his onslaught, as his juvenile rage encompassed anything and everything.
A saint of Genetyllis - goddess of birth and spring - discovered a way to stop the plague in its tracks. With her knowledge of nature and clerical magick, she created the first inoculation to prevent mortals from falling to this disease. She travelled across the three landmasses in an effort that took over a half century, finally completing her mission in the early 800s with the fledgling oasis city of Sabbia D'oru.
The gods, angry at Namtar's destruction, decided to punish him for his misdeeds. They locked his spirit away deep beneath the Markéd Mountain Range, only allowing fragments of his consciousness to escape and pervade the world with his rot. The pantheon permitted his aspect of decay to remain in the mortal realm (becoming new life in the process), with the occasional epidemic or plague to keep the mortal population in check - but otherwise, he was imprisoned for attempting utter ruin upon their world.
In the first century OM, whisperings of a group called the Children of Rot began to stir all across the Tri-Kingdoms. These individuals sought to release Namtar unto the world, becoming hosts of something "greater" in the process.
