Óðinn, God of Knowledge

King of Asgard and of the Æsir (a.k.a. Allfather, Grímnir, Thridi, Glad-of-War, The Gallows God, The Lord of the Slain)

Óðinn is the Allfather of humanity and of the Æsir. He oversees those who die in battle from his throne of Hlidskjalf in the hall of Valhöll. He sacrificed his left eye to drink from the pool of wisdom and then hung from the branches of the world's tree to aquire knowledge. By day, the ravens Huginn and Muninn sour over the realms and at night they perch on Óðinn's shoulders and wisper to him the words' tidings. In the Prophesy of Ragnarök, Óðinn is destined to be devoured by Fenrir, the great wolf and son of Loki, God of Mischief. Though not all love the Allfather, all fear and respect his might.   If you fall bravely in war the Valkyries, beautiful battle-maidens who collect the souls of the noble dead, will take you and bring you to the hall known as Valhöll. He will be waiting for you there, and there you will drink and fight and feast and battle, with Óðinn as your leader.   Óðinn has many names. He is the Allfather, the lord of the slain, the gallows god. He is the god of cargoes and of prisoners. He is called Grimnir and Third. He has different names in every country (for he is worshipped in different forms and in many tongues, but it is always Odin they worship   Followers of Óðinn can be any who are unaffraide to die by the sword. They demonstrate both great power and great responsibility, for they know Óðinn sees all. Some of them have raven companions and some are even willing to sacrifice one of their eyes to emulate the price Óðinn paid for wisdom.

Special abilities

Odin is an immensely powerful entity. He can take any shape or form desired. In combat, his presence instilled allied warriors with ecstasy. If angerd, Odin's gaze would paralyze his foes. He also shared the abilities of bards,[4] clerics,[4] druids,[4] rangers,[4] and mages.[3][4]   Odin also had two strange weaknesses. He could not directly raise the dead, and if he ever used his deific powers to heal, he fell into a deep sleep for several days.
