The Rebellion of Wakhangaro Island

The Conflict

Outcome

The coup allowed the enslaved race to top over their oppressors in less than five days inside the island. In short term, platoons of rebels took control of ships and started invading some ships controlled by the serpentfolk, but mostly manoeuvered by men. They won the naval battle, equipped the new freed slaves, and continued their momentum over some port settlements on the nearby island, toppling the tyrant serpentfolks one by one.

Aftermath

The aftermath of the coup was the very domino of a large succession of losses for the serpenfolk dominion over the other races. After the region got liberated and the remaining patches of serpentfolks that remained outside the temple-city were vanquished, this was the beginning of the tight chain of oppression losing. Due to many death of importance during the cataclysm, many households tried to take this shift in governship as an opportunity to rise above their brethren. Many allegiances broke, many assassinations took place, and instead of unity against the lower races, the mighty serpent ate itself in greed and lust for more power on a tipped scale. This behaviour allowed winning agents of the war to plant the seed of rebellion against their oppressors, and in due time, those were also received the strength of thousands oppressed against their skulls. The mesmer tried to overwhelm their enemies, but could not face such a heavy forced aimed at them, once at a time, facing rebellion leaders that were not indulging in open areas to avoid getting dominated. The jaggi fought the most ferociously and held their ground in some patches of land, but had to leave as no other would come to help them. As for the palua, most of them, if not killed by internal grudges, went in the shadows, abandonning a greater dominance for self-preservation.   This event marks the key moment of the end of (era).

Historical Significance

Legacy

The event marked a new era by archivists and historians as one that would be major enough to be considered it's own Age-transitioning event. This also caused the serpentfolk race to become a rare occurence in generations to come, having been brought near the brink of extinction by the months of bloodshed which overthrew the tyranny. Some Unique specimens remains, however, hiding behind the current rulers of some recluse cities, or in lands uncharted by mankind, possibly plotting for when they could rule as one again. But this dream may never come back, at least in the same magnitude...

In Literature

As the history of the tale went, many variations and twists were made over the years, in particular the origin of the cataclysm which destroyed the serpentfolk's main forces. A handful of churches and beliefs tried to give the credit of this 'miracle disguised as a disaster' to their pantheon to give hope, belief and strength to their believers. Most of the times, this did not had an overall bad aftermath, as some were fueled by this belief and gave courage to press on the rebellion. Altough, it is a common debate among historians, theologians and archeologists in some debates in limited public. Many are curious of the true cause of it, and the truth hiding down below is unbeknowst to most.
Conflict Result
Devastating defeat for the serpentfolks. Loss of regional dominion and countless losses.
