Aurora's Gathering
History
The aurora's gathering is a festival which Pelagoi celebrates once per planetary cycle. It is a moment of celebration to gather all and take a moment of rest and profit of all which managed to discover, gather and create. The ancestors found out that they were all working hard by their side and forgot that the force of many can create even greater projects and ressources. By gathering, they also wanted to show the progress they made to the island's goddess as a token of reckognition. Seeing as this gathering was a frank success, the ancestors decided to proceed yearly with it.
Execution
-The celebration has a week pre-event which any pelagos can come and share what they discovered, gathered new or improved. If the offering is deemed worthy, it is arranged for the pelagoi to have a temporary stand for the celebration to share their findings.
The celebration starts at dawn. As a memoriam of the ancestors, a soup of cauliflower is made in the middle of the land-based settlement to celebrate their discoveries of the earth above. Alguaes towels filled with sea water is also offered to those who want to ensure an enjoyable festival.
Until the course of noon, various musical performance are made with some stands showcasing their discoveries. Another part of it can be seen in the underwater part as some inventions and findings can be also used underwater. Also, many activities are offered during that celebration, such as Haurangi's Mushroom Ride Gauntlet .
Around the highest point of the sun, the pelagoi gathers in the upstream hot water source where more details are shown of the news foundings and ovationed accordingly. A Band usually takes care of the intermittence. The seers and Queen also got out their quarters for this occassion as a commune.
A couple of hours before dusk, the pelagoi gathers again nearby the hot source, which the queen will offer a homily and share with her seer council what they expect of the winter season, good or bad.
The rest of the evening, the feast continues until late hours. those that were assigned a space usually take it to clean the place and replace the furniture in their assignated shell hangars. The event finishes with one bonfire where dancing and music is present. When the fire finishes, it is time for everyone to get back to sleep, and slowly start the winter season.
Observance
The observance of this event is always around 3 days before the beginning of winter season.
