The time of the Ardada Empire.
Pallagrin Gasquet continued the expansion of Brudy Gasquet and conquered more than half of the Ardada Kingdoms that existed at that time. He took this opportunity to move the capital to the more centrally located Arriutat and setup guilds and trades to flourish out of it.
First female emperor of the Ardada Empire. Had a short tumultuous reign due to rebellions in the Còrdelo Basin due to poor treatment of the native Canviar. Was ultimately assassinated by a Canviar nationalist.
Was the general of the army during the reign of Frendesia Gasquet. When she was assassinated, Astranguer declared martial law and enforced order with brutal tactics. Was ultimately assassinated through a joint effort of Frendesia's heir, Rayvand, and a group of Canviar rebels.
Declared peace with the Canviar and grew trade within the empire and outside of the empire through Arriutat. Consolidated most of the remaining Ardada kingdoms into the empire. Used the prosperity from the trade to begin a cultural dominance and send trade ships to the far reaches of Malplenan using the seas.
Peaceful reign, but controversial due to a stagnant economy and ineffectual trade policies. Was assassinated by their younger brother.
The Ardada Empire conquered the homelands of the Canviar, many Ardada kingdoms and large parts of Mata Duitan, Boneana Republic and Paísawizi. The wars ultimately ended due an emporer falling with no succession plan.
Militaristic and brutal against enimies, and treated everyone not in the empire as an enemy. Broke the peace treaty with the Canviar and started the Sanguèrra Wars which would last for nearly a quarter of a century. Conquered the Canviar homeland, the remaining Ardada kingdoms to the east and pushed back the borders with Mata Duitan and Boneana Republic. Introduced a nationalistic culture of pride at home and was well loved for it but was hated by everyone outside of the empire due to all of the wars. Ultimately died in battle while on campaign against Mata Duitan.
Negotiated a tense pace with Mata Duitan after gaining little ground but losing a lot of the army in 116. Maintained peace for a few years as they regrouped the armies outside of Paísawizi and invaded. Died mid-campaign unexpectedly due to natural causes.
The general recalled the army to the empire. However, the heirs had disappeared and there was no clear succession plan. A struggle for power ensued.
The general of the army found the missing heirs and was able to reconsolidate power. The reign was largely peaceful as the empire needed to rebuild after so many wars and the chaos of not having an emperor for years. Relied heavily on slaves from the previous wars, particularly Pisongada, to help rebuild. Sent minor campaigns into Boneana Republic but no large gains were made and they never went in person. Was well loved by the empire due to the success of the rebuild.
Well liked by the nobles, but pushed the lower class and slaves very hard for little benefit. Started many public-works projects for vanity. Slaves eventually rebelled in 198 but was easy to put the rebellion down. Was assassinated in a coup in 199.
Put into power by a cabal of nobles under the promise to invade Boneana Republic. Amassed the largest army in Ardada history and invaded in 206. Invented many new technologies to help combat flying enemies, such as shrapnel launchers. Died in a training accident.
Dominated neighbouring nations through arts, culture, trade and technology. Built the Sud and Mejan canals to allow ships to sail across all reaches of the empire over its river networks. Colonized the Magre Isles in the north and St. Sauvan to the east. Had a very stable reign with only a couple of slave rebellions that were quickly quashed and covered up.
Started to centralize power into Arriutat due to dissent on the outskirts. This caused further dissatisfaction in the outer regions. Died suddenly with a young heir.
Contentious rise to power as he seized the throne from the younger heir who many thought would rule next. Had loyal city guards lock up the younger heir and started arbitrarily executing and purging other nobles due to paranoia. Started many fruitless wars against other nobles, rebellions and dissenting factions. Was assissinated alone as the other leaders had abandoned him.
The paranoia and arbitrary executions by Dagobert Gasquet IV and his eventual assassinations left the leadership of the Ardada Empire in shambles. This left a void of power that many local rulers used to take control of their regions and form their own nations.
