Ardada

The Ardada are a proud race that put their pack first before all else. They are spread out across the north eastern portion of Malplenan, either having settled the land or conquered it from other races. They have a history of founding nations then later having them collapse due to infighting.   They Ardada work very closely with the Vårdnad. They have had a symbiotic relationship since before anyone remembers. No one knows how exactly it started, but it stays together due to how useful each race is to each other. The Ardada provides the leadership and protection while the Vårdnad keep the community together and the bureaucracy running smoothly.

Ardada

The Ardada are a proud race that put their pack first before all else and feel terrible if they are separated from their pack, intentionally or unintentionally. Their love for their pack drives all of their decisions. They are often feared by other races due to their strength and fighting ability, which has led them to lead large parts of the continent.

race features:
Your Pack: You live and die with your pack. Your pack is made up of your close friends and familly and can be anywhere from just a few members to in the dozens. Some rare wolf packs number in the hundreds. You are at your best when you are around your pack. However, when you are unexpectedly separated from your pack for a long period of time, you slowly dip into madness. Roll or choose a madness from the Indefinite Madness table. This madness goes away if you become reunited with your pack.   Bite: Your jaws are powerful natural weapons, which you can use to crunch your enemies with unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier) or be knocked prone.   Claws: Your claws are natural weapons, which can be used to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.   Pack Hunting: Your pack is a powerful force on the battlefield. You have advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of your pack members is within 5 feet of the creature and the pack member isn’t incapacitated.   Keen Senses: You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

Terrifying Growl

Ardada

You have perfected making your growl sound as terrifying as possible.

  • As a bonus action, you may pick a target within 60 ft. That target must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 6 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier). A target automatically succeeds on the save if it can’t hear or see you. Any member of your pack may use their reaction to add half of their proficiency bonus to the DC of the saving throw. If the target has less than 25% of their total hit points, they have disadvantage on their saving throw. On a failed save, the target becomes frightened of you and all members of the pack that growled at them for 1 minute. If the frightened target takes any damage, it can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Pack Howl

Ardada

You have learned how to howl in just the right way to lead your pack into a hunt.

  • Before a hunt, you may start a howl. All pack members that take part of the howl (including yourself) become hyped up and gain advantage on a single attack roll, ability check or saving throw that takes place as part of the hunt. If the pack gets unexpectedly separated or if something disrupts the hunt, the advantage goes away. If the hunt takes place over multiple days, this ability may be used once per long rest, at the start of each segment of the hunt.
A hunt is not specifically hunting for food, but any mission or quest that has a very specific purpose that a howl will hype everyone up for.
