Harvest Sorrow of Northfarthing

The Harvest Sorrow of Northfarthing refers to an unsolved incident involving the death of four tweens (3 halfling and one half elf) who went missing during the last night of the Harvest Festival in Northfarthing. Their death was initially blamed on Old Willy Ragshins, a farmer whose dead body was discovered with a scrap of cloth from one of the murdered girls in his pocket. Old Willy had apparently killed himself in shame and remorse for murdering the tweens. Approximately 10 days later however, the bodies of the dead children were discovered in the bottom of a shallow river between Northfarthing and Barrowland. Most horribly, the bodies had been reanimated into zombies. While maintaining a perimeter to gather information from the crime scene, a Northfarthing deputy was murdered and decapitated. Other eyewitness deputies told stories of a powerful necromancer who had returned to the crime scene and wreaked havoc. Although the surrounding area was searched thoroughly by Sheriff Fatty Pudgebuck, his deputies, and a team of adventurers, only the necromancer's camp was ever discovered. Since that time, the sheriff has been on the lookout for anyone indulging in the necromantic arts, as well as any strange activity near Barrowland.  Old Willy Ragshins has been exonerated.
