Tawa

Tawa is the human persona of the bound Painter, a minor High Spirit stripped of his powers by the mountain tribe. He is allied with the Makkah spirit binders but his true loyalty and love is dedicated to the Star Spirit.
Tawa does not remember being a High Spirit, as his connection to the spirit land has been bound, but memories are slowly returning to him as he experiences more of Makkah and talks with spirits.

General Physical Condition

Tawa is skinny with little strength, flexibility, speed, agility, hand-to-eye coordination, or stamina.

Facial Features

Eventually Tawa will be able to grow a beard.

Identifying Characteristics

The Painter's sunmark is a pale birthmark on Tawa's lower back. His left earlobe is notched from some forgotten event.

Physical quirks

Tawa slouches constantly and walks in a slow, rolling gait. He's left-handed.

Special abilities

His powers as the Painter are also bound and lost like his brush, but Tawa is determined to get them back.
He could still spirit bind, but the idea repulses him.

Apparel & Accessories

Most of the time Tawa wears simple buckskin leggings decorated with sloppy painted doodles and a beaded armband on his left upper arm to indicate his friendship with the Makkah spirit binders, and thus all Makkah tribes. In the winter he wears a buckskin shirt and burrows into a buffalo robe.

Specialized Equipment

The Painter's brush is lost, but Tawa is determined to reclaim it.

Motivation

He wants to get his High Spirit powers back so he can warn the Star Mare and other High Spirits about the mountain tribe's plot to bind them all. He just really, really wants to protect his friend and make sure she doesn't experience the same pain and humiliation he did.

Tawa is trash at most everything, including painting. He is surprisingly practiced at horse riding, though.

Tawa dislikes most everything about the physical world. It's dirty, loud, ugly, smelly, painful, exhausting, etc. etc.
He does have a fondness for blueberries and snails. He likes horses but they don't really like him.
