Popularly known as the Star Mare.
The Star Mare is a High Spirit. To the eyes of a human, she can be seen as a grand constellation in the night sky depicting her running form of, you guessed it, a mare. And she spends a good amount of time up there, running the affairs of the night sky. But she also can come to the physical world, in human or horse form. In the physical world she runs with wild horse herds on the plains, showing them secret places and wrecking human establishments.
She loves free horses and hates all humans.

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
As a human, she's tall, plus-size, and buff.
When in horse form, she's tall, plus-size, and buff. She's huge in comparison to other horses, almost unnaturally so. Much larger, stronger, faster, scarier. Her teeth are fangs, hooves are steel, tail a whip with a hundred barbs.
Body Features
Human: Dark, dark skin. Dark as the night sky, ha. Even darker hair. Thick and curly, almost coily.
Horse: This is where things get interesting. The Painter paints her coat before she travels to the physical world, so her coat pattern and coloring changes every time. If he doesn't paint her coat, it's completely black.

A dusting of tiny silver freckles across her cheeks and nose.
Physical quirks
She's a leftie. She stands like she owns the world and could destroy it in a moment. Her strides are long, smooth, confident, fast. She'll roll her hands into fists that get tighter and tighter and tighter the longer she stays in human form.
Special abilities
She knows spirit binding and her higher form of magic exclusive to High Spirits.
She can only move between the physical and spiritual worlds at night.

She wears a buckskin dress embroidered with tiny glass beads that depict the current constellations in the sky.

She has a quirt that allows her to control the minds of horses and somewhat influence other heartbeat creatures, and helps her spirit bind.

Contacts & Relations
All High Spirits know each other, and she's allies with most of them. She and the moon spirit quarrel often, and once the Painter tried to help and made everything worse. But if she were in serious need and called a High Spirit to her aid, almost most definitely they would respond immediately.
Family Ties
She's the mother of the wild horses of the grasslands. She's close, close friends with the Painter.
Her first children were quadruplet horses made of the elements--fire, water, air, and earth. They had children, and they had children, and they had children until the plains horse as known today was born. The quadruplets had access to both the spiritual and physical world but through mingling with cheveyos they lost their heartbeats and roam forgotten paths now because of it.

As a High Spirit, she has a different view of things than humans. Both literally and figuratively. But generally speaking she disagrees with the mountain people.
