The Empire of Coritha

The vast Corithan Empire politically and economically dominates Magna Testudo and has no rival in it's influence or power. Once no more than a warring collection of petty city states the inhabitants of the Corithan Peninsula built, bought, and killed their way into ultimate sovereignty of the known world. The Corithan Empire is the largest united political entity in the known world, so vast and powerful that the Continent is named for it. The seat of the empire is the Imperial CIty which was founded by the first emperor after his conquest of the peninsula more than 2,000 years ago.
The empire remains today though its conquering days are hundreds of years in the past and each of the provinces are held together by mutual reverence of the emperor and the gods. It's estimated that more than a third of the population of the world lives within the empire's boundaries which is a mixing pot of cultures.
