Hill Dwarf

Of the two types of dwarves the hill dwarf is considered the more sociable and outgoing of the two though by the standards of other races they're still quite introverted and private. Hill dwarves prefer to dwell on the surface as opposed to their mountainborn cousins and live in fortified settlements that may often also be home to other races. Hill Dwarf towns and cities are well planned out with straight roads and districts being set aside by zoning laws and nice, neat constructions spaced more or less evenly apart from one another. Hill dwarves are widespread in the empire and much of the world, gravitating toward the towns and cities where their trades as merchants, craftsmen, and masons are in demand.

Appearance

Hill dwarves are not as muscular as their cousins from under the mountains and tend to err toward rotund, they are slightly taller in stature on average and the tallest dwarf ever recorded was the legendary giant slayer Makkumli Bonehide who stood at five feet tall and reportedly weighed 300 pounds. Hill dwarves have darker skin that ranges from tan in color, to olive, to dark shades of brown. Their hair ranges from reddish or auburn to black.
