Mordenkrad
The mordenkrad is a very large hammer specially designed by Hill Dwarves to combat trolls, ogres, and other giants. It's light staff is made of sturdy hardwood and the head is nearly 12 solid pounds of forged steal. In a two handed grip a trained warrior can use its momentum to deal devastating blows to creatures at least one size category larger but has difficulty connecting the weapon with smaller creatures.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The mordenkrad deals 3d4 bludgeoning damage and has the following properties: Heavy, High Critical, Special, Two-Handed
Special: When a trained wielder moves at least 5 feat before swinging the mordenkrad the momentum allows them to gain advantage on attack rolls against creatures at least one size category larger than them but suffer disadvantage attacking creatures of their size or smaller.
Significance
This is a cultural weapon for the hill dwarves and counts as a martial weapon for hill dwarves only. Hill dwarf characters with martial weapon proficiency are trained to use this unique weapon. Anyone outside of hill dwarf society may only learn this weapon by taking the Weapon Master feat.
