The Redwind Watchtower

An ancient lighthouse on the edges of the Redwind forest that was decommissioned.   The lighthouse has now been repurposed into a defensive position for the Ukari as a watchtower for invading forces to the north.         On the northern reaches of the Redwind forest lies an old Lighthouse that was used to guide boats and ships into the harbors of the Ukari Kingdom. When the Invading forces to the north pushed the Ukari to the south into Mt. Vulmar the fishing villages and small kingdom has been abandoned in fear of another attack. The Lighthouse had been left empty for a great many years until a Young Ukari Fisherman and sailor had suggested the building be used to watch over the northern borders. This young sailor was given the duty of exploring the old lighthouse to see and damage that it may have incurred over the years. Upon his arrival back at the Ukari Kingdom the Lighthouse was fully intact an unoccupied other than as a breeding ground for seagulls and other animals as nature was beginning to take the tower back. Repairs were needed and fortifications would need to be set in place in case of an attack as well as escape routes to bring any messages back to the kingdom. After nearly a year of construction, the Old lighthouse had been turned into a formidable watchtower keeping an ever-watchful eye on the Marshlands to the north.

Changes to the original building.

Tunnels were created under the building for escape into the Redwind forest.   The dome atop the tower has fortified and the great light in the center was removed as no travelers used the bay to the north for trade or travel anymore [some smugglers and other unsavory folks would still use the bay from time to time.]   Large barricades were placed around the lighthouse that were eventually turned into walls.   To support a small garrison of troops buildings were erected inside of the walls to house soldiers, store food and other supplies essentially turning this ancient lighthouse and beacon of hope into a small military outpost.
