Faculty of Elemental Magic of WAMA
Faculty of Elemental Magic of the Warsaw Academy for Magical Arts is a very versatile unit of the Academy, the same as elemental magic is a very versatile branch of magic. At the faculty students can learn battle magic as well as peaceful appliances of the elements. They can also devote themselves to the purely academic side of magic and study elemental theory.
Structure
The faculty is divided into three departments. The first one is the Department of Battle Magic. It teaches the theory and pratice of using magic in combat and warfare. Its graduates can join the Polish Army, law enforcement (including the Blood Magic Investigations Division) or work in private security companies.
The second department is the Department of Disaster Preventation. Despite its name it doesn't only focus on the issues surrounding natural disasters. The name comes from the times when it did focus only on those things. However, as time moved forward people started to realize that there are more and more peacetime uses for elemental magic. Today, students of the department can learn how elemental magic can be used to try to solve many of the world's problems. One of the best known projects of the department is the Africa Water Project. Its goal is to provide drinkable water to all people of Africa through the use of Geomancy and Hydromancy.
The last department of the faculty is the Department of Elemental Theory. This is the theoretical and academic part of the faculty. Here, students can learn about the laws that govern elemental magic as well as learn the basics of spell design. Many people would be surprised that in the 21st century people are still designing spells as for a common person it seems that all spells have already been designed. However, it isn't true. There is still space to design new spells. Spell design also includes modifying spells to make them stronger, weaker or better for a specific situation.
