Laklen King/Queen
Requirements
To be crowned, one must be a direct descendent of a king. Eldest children over the age of fifteen take priority. If they are too young, the other parent or a sibling can form a regency. If there are no children, siblings can be crowned.
Appointment
A king or queen ascends to power the moment the previous one has died, and can act as such from then on. However, to celebrate the new monarch, a coronation is held within the same year they ascend to power.
Duties
The monarch's duties include appointing advisors to their cabinet to manage the duties of legislation, law enforcement, military, public resources, finance, foreign policy, and more. The monarch must approve all national laws before they are passed, emergency actions, and public policies. They must preside over the matters of court, declare war, make peace, levy taxes, and execute justice.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the monarch often include meeting with advisors, reading reports from advisors, entertaining foreign dignitaries, presiding over the court and the kingdom's nobility, and conducting matters of warfare. Traditionally, kings are also expected to lead troops in battle, attend high profile executions, and fund public projects such as art and construction.
