Lake Ryna

Lake Ryna is an enormous freshwater lake that gives the Rynan Basin its name. Lake Ryna covers an area of 1.5 million square kilometres with a shoreline stretching for 6.8 thousand kilometers. Water flows into the lake from the Fladow, Tarril, Taveton and Pilworth rivers as well as many smaller streams. All water falling in the basin and the surrounding mountains drains to the lake. The sole outflow is the Qytha River flowing towards the Tolgalen Sea. The lake levels rise with the heavy rains and melts of early spring and continue to rise with the rains of spring and summer drawn towards the heat of the desert of swords. Correspondingly, the Qytha river also rises during these wet seasons.
Lake Ryna is home to a vast array of aquatic life and many villagers make their living from the fish it provides. The lake is also an important part of the trade routes connecting Falhakia , Loron , Ladowvault and Bangallia to the Tolgalen Sea.
