Neuronet hadn't taken into account that Nanotypes were able to reproduce naturally, with other Nanotypes as well as
Humans, leading to the development of hybrids.
Appearance
While a lot of hybrids look human, there is a chance for a hybrid to develop grey skin (50% when a result of a Nanotype-Human or Hybrid-Hybrid, 25% when Hybrid-human)
Abilities
Phase 1, 2, 4+ Nanotypes will pass on abilities that they have to their children as well as enhanced resistance and self-healing capabilities. Hybrids with Phase 3 relations will get enhanced resistance and self-healing capabilities but nothing else.
Locations
M'Zeri
The number of hybrids increased in M'Zeri since the development of the Nanotypes in 2550nb to when the humans fled M'Zeri in 2603nb. Since there are still a very small number of humans on M'Zeri after that time period, it is assumed there is an even smaller number of hybrids.
Beldua
A a number of hybrids managed to survive on the initial colony ships, there is a sizable percentage of Hybrids still on Beldua, unaware of what they actually are.
Hybrids usually will find out from various causes, for example: Accidents, severe injuries, abilities suddenly being used, etc
