Some say the unicorn is as wild and untameable as the deepest parts of the forest, likely to run you through as soon as see you. Other say the unicorn is beautiful and graceful, and will befriend any who are pure of heart. Both of these are true.
A unicorn is a magical beast that superficially resembles a horse with an ivory horn growing from its forehead. However, despite the resemblance, a unicorn is not a true equid, possessing intelligence and abilities beyond the reach of many humanoids.

Anatomy
A unicorn is a large, equine quadruped with cloven hooves, a short beard, a long tail tipped with a brush like that of a lion, and most strikingly, a long spiral horn growing from its forehead. Most observed unicorns have a white coat and mane, but a few black individuals have been spotted in areas that have been blighted by dark magic.
Unicorn stallions tend to be larger than the mares, with a longer beard.
Ecology and Habitats
Unicorns are typically found in the heart of enchanted forests, most notably the Shalabinth Forest. They defend their territory vigorously against any evil creatures that would defile it, but may join forces with good-hearted individuals as a guardian or a mount.

A unicorn can speak a number of languages of the forest, such as Common, Elvish, and Sylvan, though it can communicate with any intelligent creature using its innate Telepathy.
