human
Humans are one of the younger humanoid species on Lyranthium, but have demonstrated the drive to explore and survive in a world that seems to favor more intrinsically powerful creatures. As such, they are also one of the most diverse, populous, and widely distributed of the intelligent species.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Humans are mammalian bipeds with forward-facing eyes, a relatively small nose, and strong jaws well-suited for an omnivorous diet. An average human has two arms and two legs, and their upper extremities have five digits, one of which is an opposable thumb. Their lower extremities likewise have five digits, but no opposable thumb. Their posture is upright, and their feet have a plantigrade configuration.
Humans are relatively hairless among mammals, typically only possessing significant hair covering on the head and around the genital area, but certain individuals can have a thicker covering of hair on the chest, back, and limbs. Their skin color can range in color from cream-white to black-brown, and their hair from pale blond to ebony black.
Female humans tend to be shorter and less muscular than their male counterparts, with wider hips for carrying young, and a pair of mammaries on the chest

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Humans have decent binocular and color vision, but poor night and low-light vision. Certain individuals who are born with magical talent can also naturally see into the magical spectrum.
Their hearing can be poor compared to other intelligent species, but it is sharp enough to allow them to imitate animal calls and even mimic other languages with varying success.
