Neanderthals tend to be short and stocky, with long arms, a barrel chest, and a prominent brow ridge. Their skin is leathery and typically covered in sparse hair, and they dress in simple clothing made of hides or roughly woven wool.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

Neanderthals can speak and understand a primitive dialect of Common, and some may know Dwarvish, Giant, or Orcish as well.

Common Dress code

Neanderthals typically wear the hides of local animals to protect themselves from the bitter cold, but an individual who has taken down a particularly impressive beast on the hunt will often wear a trophy from the animal, such as a claw, a fang, or a hood made from the creature's head both to demonstrate their prowess and to gain some of the strength of the animal.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Neanderthals value strength, skill, and endurance in both sexes, though they tend to be wary of taller humans. A broad-shouldered, well-fed male and a wide-hipped female with large breasts are both valued as mates.
