Session 10 - A Much-Needed Respite
General Summary
The party continued traveling to their home town, arriving to rest and recuperate from their various injuries. Vashti found and situated a cave for her use outside of town, and after cleansing herself, went to speak to and commune with Mother Time. While some answers were found, so too were new questions.
Sister Irina sought contemplation and insight from Gaal in the abbey. And by the end of the week, a vision was granted to her, one she would have to interpret to learn what Gaal intended. Finally, Ivan trained with a Dmitrii Vasilievich - the man-at-arms who had returned from the prince's services, and helped Vashti find herself a place to stay outside of town.
However, events in town were continuing to unfold. Hegumenia Marfa sought isolation from the rumors and outside world, letting Sister Evdokia take charge of the abbey's decisions. Anna, the recent widow, had sent her eldest son to convince the prince to take away control of the lands around the town from the abbey.
Ivan noticing that the widow's actions were getting more desperate, asked Lada to keep an eye on Anna if she got out of hand, who agreed for the time being. The rest of the group left town, but ended up getting lost, and Irina got sick from the spring rain. Ivan and Vashti worked together to get fire and food for the party, until they were ready to continue. Eventually, with some help from a towns person of the pagans, the party found itself where Vashti visions had said they needed to go; a dangerous swamp - home to the volkhvy.
